Eminem has released the fourth song from his new album “MMLP2” (release date November 5), “The Monster,” featuring Rihanna.

Billboard writes that “The Monster” premiered on SiriusXM’s Shade 45 yesterday, October 28.

Rihanna shows off her vocal skills in the hook: "I'm friends with the monster that's under my bed/ Get along with the voices inside of my head/ You're trying to save me/ Stop holding your breath/ And you think I'm crazy/ Yeah, you think I'm crazy/ Well that's not fair."

Meanwhile, Eminem raps about “The Monster” haunting him. MTV writes that the monster seems to be fame (do we see a Lady Gaga influence?), as reflected in the opening lyric, "I wanted the fame but not the cover of Newsweek/ Oh well, guess beggars can't be choosy/ wanted to receive attention for my music/ wanted to be left alone in public, excuse me.”

The song is already winning critical acclaim, with Billboard writing, “The duo's chemistry is undeniable” and MTV calling it “so good it’s scary” and noting the song’s “true pop potential,” in contrast with the pure rap of “Berzerk” and “Rap God.”

Rihanna and Eminem previously collaborated on the 2010 hit “Love the Way You Lie.” Rihanna teased the collaboration in September, tweeting, “Just left the studio…Recorded a #monster hook for one of my favorites! And that’s all I can give you… #NavyShit.”

Eminem also collaborated with Kendrick Lamar, Skylar Grey (“Love the Way You Lie” songwriter; Eminem recently produced her first album) and Nate Reuss of fun. for “MMLP2,” with the deluxe edition including features by Sia and Jamie N. Commons. See the full tracklist here.

“The Monster” is Eminem’s third single and fourth song released from “MMLP2.” “Berzerk” and “Rap God” are currently climbing the charts and “Survival” was released to promote “Call of Duty: Ghosts.”
