"The Walking Dead" season 4 is only a few weeks away as new spoilers suggest Rick Grimes may be pushed to his breaking point and may be changing forever.
"About six or seven months have passed, and during that time, the prison's become a more stable place," Episode 1 writer Scott Gimple said in a new teaser trailer. "We're going to see them try to get over what they've lost and try to survive beyond that."
"We really wanted to come into season four and put these characters through their paces," said series creator Robert Kirkman. "We wanted every character to be pushed to their breaking point."
Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln, dished on some more similar teasers on what would happen in season 4.
"I can say this: The first season was very much about the man discovering this new world and searching for his family," Lincoln told Zap2it. "The second season was a struggle for leadership, an ideology, which was Rick vs. Shane ... pragmatism over morality. The third season was very much a clash of two civilizations, and I suppose the fourth season can be summed up in a question, which is, 'Can we ever come back from the horrors that we see or perpetrate?' Can we return to the people we once were? Can Rick ever be the man he once was, for the sake of his two children?"
Executive producer David Alpert told AMCtv: "Dangling the possibility of civilization will make people much more desperate and willing to do things that would have previously been unthinkable."
So fans shouldn't be surprised if they see some surprising scenes with their favorite characters in danger.
Season 4 is described:
"In the highly anticipated new season, we find Rick and the group fostering a thriving community in the safe haven of the prison. Sadly, in this brutal world, happiness is short-lived and walkers and outside threats are no match for danger brewing inside the fences. The group's home and new way of life will be thoroughly tested, and their struggle to survive has never been so perilous. Season 4 also introduces several new characters including Bob Stookey (Lawrence Gilliard Jr., "The Wire")."
"The Walking Dead" season 4 episode 1, titled "30 Days Without Incident," premieres on Oct. 13 at 9 p.m. on AMC.
