Katherine Heigl, star of "Knocked Up" and recently a NyQuil ZzzQuil commercial, is being called "difficult" by Hollywood insiders ahead of her television return in an NBC CIA show.
The actress is being criticized for being demanding to work with on movie sets, including her manager mom, who's said to give producers a hard time.
A source who worked with the former "Grey's Anatomy" star told The Hollywood Reporter the actress is no fun to deal with.
"She can cost you time every single day of shooting," the source said. "Wardrobe issues, not getting out of the trailer, questioning the script every single day."
As for mother Nancy Heigl, a movie producer says she makes the situation even worse.
"I have never experienced anything like Nancy Heigl," said the source. "It's about the mouth. 'F--- you. You are a f---ing liar.' Whatever you'd say, you were an idiot. The call would be, 'This is the worst craft service we've ever had! There's nothing to eat! This is the worst wardrobe!' You knew that every day, you were going to get slammed. The frustrating part is [Heigl] is incredibly talented and smart."
The 34-year-old actress has defended her mom's behavior in the past, blaming the industry's toughness for it.
"She didn't care if she made any friends in this town," Heigl told Vanity Fair in January 2008 . "This is a fear-dominated industry ... and my mother refuses to be intimidated by that. This is all a game of chicken, and my mother is really good at chicken."
Heigl's untitled NBC drama was announced by the network this month.© 2013 Fashion & Style.com All rights reserved. Do not reproduce without permission.
