Lindsey Vonn opened up about her career in a new interview with Red Bull, and she even touched on the subject of her famous boyfriend, Tiger Woods.
The Olympic skier, 28, didn’t mention Woods by name, but she did say that she’s currently in “a new chapter” of her life and has been spending lots of time with “friends and family” during her break from her career due to her knee injury – reading between the lines, that’s all about her relationship with Woods, 37.
Woods was more forthcoming about her leg injury.
Speaking of her first public appearance without a knee brace – at the Delete Blood Cancer Gala in May – Vonn said, “It felt wonderful to be ‘free’! Since the moment they put it on I was aching to get it off. I had quite a few of them too.
“They changed my braces from the one I got in the first hospital to a new one after surgery to gradually more mobile braces,” she added. “But now I am finally I am myself again. It feels like in the movie ‘Forest Gump’!”
“In the last months I had to learn to be patient; my knee gave me limitations I wasn’t used to,” Vonn revealed.
“I had to gradually ease back into my training. Step by step I made progress though. It wasn’t easy and doing nothing at the very beginning was a difficult challenge. So in that sense I learned to just be patient and take things a bit more slowly. It’s a hard balance between pushing yourself and knowing where your weaknesses are.”
Vonn revealed that she’s staying positive and thinking forward to the Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014.
“I’m pretty happy about the progress, everything is on schedule! So let’s keep our fingers crossed that the next few weeks, and then the first training on snow, will go well,” she said.© 2013 Fashion & Style.com All rights reserved. Do not reproduce without permission.
