While "Iron Man 4" may not be in the works anytime soon, but Mark Wahlberg hinted that he could be the next Iron Man, replacing Robert Downey Jr. Also, who could be the next villain?

Robert Downey Jr., 48, IS Tony Stark a.k.a Iron Man as far as everyone knows, but by time he does "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron" and "Avengers 3," he may be too old for the beloved role.

But Wahlberg, 42, recently told Yahoo Movies that he wants to play Iron Man whenever talk of "Iron Man 4" comes up again.

"I would like to take over the Iron Man franchise for Robert's one of those things where I kind of like playing real people...I've never been asked," Wahlberg said.

Den of Geek! pointed out that Wahlberg could be the man for the job, saying:

Mr. Downey hasn't committed to any further Iron Man solo films, and given his desire to work on different projects, it seems unlikely that he would agree to carry a potential Iron Man 4, especially as he would be in his mid-fifties by the time that project got off the ground. Wahlberg, on the other hand, is the same age Downey was when he first donned the armor in 2008's Iron Man.

Fans are no doubt waiting and hoping for another Iron Man movie. "Iron Man 3" reached a worldwide box office gross of $1.2 billion, so it shows how important Robert Downey Jr. is to Marvel, but his Iron Man days will be over sooner rather than later.

So if there were to be an "Iron Man 4" movie, which would play the villain?

WhatCulture came up with five different villain contenders: Ezekiel "Zeke" Stane, Titanium Man, The Blood Brothers, Ultimo, and Fin Fang Foom.

In terms of release date, "confirmed" that "Iron Man 4" would release in theaters on May 6, 2016.
